Iroh is due to leave in the morning, heading back to his responsibilities in the Fire Nation. Iroh wants Bolin to come with him, but, Bolin, being the good little brother that he is, doesn’t want to leave Mako. Iroh is certain that after this evening, they won’t see each other again, or at least that when they do, it will be a very long time from now, when Bolin will most likely have met someone new and Iroh has married. In this piece, Bolin is trying to do his best to comfort Iroh, telling him “We’ll survive the distance. I’ll write to you often, and you’ll write to me.
